Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) governs access to and use of the Inheritus website, platform, products, and services (collectively, the “Services”). Capitalized terms not defined here have the meanings given in the Inheritus Terms of Use. By accessing or using the Services, you agree to comply with this AUP.

1. Permitted Use

You may use the Services solely for their intended purpose, through interfaces and methods explicitly provided or authorized by Inheritus, and in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and contractual obligations.

2. Prohibited Automated Access and Scraping

You may not access, monitor, extract, copy, scrape, crawl, harvest, aggregate, or collect any content, data, or materials from the Services using any automated means, including but not limited to:

  • Bots, spiders, crawlers, scrapers
  • Scripts or headless browsers
  • AI agents or automation frameworks
  • Monitoring, indexing, or data-mining tools

This prohibition applies regardless of whether the data is publicly visible and includes text, images, documents, metadata, analytics, interfaces, and derivative data.

3. Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning Restrictions

You may not use any portion of the Services or its content for:

  • Training, fine-tuning, or validating AI or ML models
  • Creating datasets or embeddings
  • Powering RAG systems or knowledge bases
  • Generating competing or derivative AI products

without prior written authorization from Inheritus.

4. Circumvention of Technical Safeguards

You may not bypass, evade, disable, interfere with, or defeat any technical or security measures implemented by Inheritus, including:

  • Authentication systems
  • Rate limits or quotas
  • CAPTCHA or bot-detection mechanisms
  • Firewalls or access controls
  • Robots.txt directives

Any attempt to probe, scan, or test the Services for vulnerabilities is prohibited.

5. API and Enterprise Access

Where Inheritus provides APIs, SDKs, or enterprise integrations:

  • Use is governed by separate written agreements or API Terms
  • Accessing undocumented, private, or internal endpoints is prohibited
  • Exceeding authorized usage limits or scopes is prohibited

Enterprise users may not use the Services to build or enable competitive, substitute, or benchmarking products without express written consent.

6. Data Ownership, Database Rights, and Derivative Works

All content, compilations, selections, arrangements, and databases made available through the Services are the exclusive property of Inheritus or its licensors.

To the extent applicable under EU law, Inheritus asserts database rights under Directive 96/9/EC, and you may not extract or reutilize all or a substantial part of the contents of any database without authorization.

You may not:

  • Create derivative datasets
  • Redistribute or resell data
  • Combine Inheritus data with third-party datasets for commercial use

7. Platform Integrity and Fair Use

You may not use the Services in any manner that:

  • Degrades performance or stability
  • Imposes unreasonable or disproportionate load
  • Interferes with other users’ access
  • Masks identity or request origin
  • Enables mass data collection or surveillance

8. Monitoring and Enforcement

Inheritus may monitor usage patterns and enforce this AUP through technical and administrative means, including:

  • Traffic throttling or blocking
  • IP or account restrictions
  • Suspension or termination of access
  • Revocation of licenses or permissions

Enforcement actions may be taken without prior notice.

9. Legal Remedies

Violations of this AUP may constitute:

  • Breach of contract
  • Trespass to chattels
  • Violation of computer misuse or fraud laws
  • Infringement of intellectual property or database rights

Inheritus reserves the right to seek injunctive relief, damages, costs, and attorneys’ fees to the maximum extent permitted by law.

10. Limited Exceptions

Standard search engine indexing may be permitted solely for the purpose of indexing publicly accessible pages, provided such activity:

  • Complies with robots.txt
  • Does not negatively impact performance
  • Is not used for data aggregation or AI training

All other automated access requires prior written approval.
